Milano - dal 30 aprile al 27 settembre 2009, Palazzo Reale, a cura di Claudia Beltramo Ceppi
Monet doesn't design bridges. He builds theme.
Bridges between eye and listen, think and phatos, action and emotion.
Today Monet is importan becouse with this exhibition named the ninfee's time he gives us back a retrieved time which is inside of us. A deep and original time. That's why I think he is not the father of impressionism, but of immersionism. With Monet we go dip into the canvas, under the surface, discovering that ninfees are a pretext to investigate not just the outer side of nature, but the insider one. The man's one. So Monet is not just a painter, but also a philosopher becouse he gives us a direction to our senses and to aesthetic. He works about nature, reclaming it. Like source of legitimation of the same art.
This is an important exhibition becouse for the first time in Milan the two most important cultural structures are united: The Motta Foundation and The Kime Museum which working about the oriental culture in Europe offer us also the opportunity to see in this exhibition a dialogue between oriental and western culture, between Europe and the others. So an event with many implications.
But this is a new way to create exhibitions. We can not organize theme just thinking about the mastrpiece or becouse the artist is famous. We must belive that the exhibitions have not to become just more popular, but their mission is to make the people more cultured, giving theme informations and making theme grow. So no more so many pieces inside the events ( 20 canvases and 56 stamps). But each of these sends the visitor to an argument, a question, an interrogation. Asking him to stop and stay in front of it for long time to reason and understand it. This is another way to spend some time in a museum, to getting out really transformed.
